CYO RECOGNITION CELEBRATIONS

Parents and Students:

 

With the end of the school year approaching, plans are underway for our annual CYO Recognition Celebrations.

 

 

Junior Varsity Recognition Assembly

 

This event will take place on Sunday, June 7th, following the 9:00 am Mass in the School Gym.  This event will honor our 5th and 6th grade students (as well has 4th grade Cross Country and Track students) who participated in any of the 5 phases of our CYO program, including our Speech Program.

 

Reservations and payment are required in advance and will be done on line, through the registration program.  Registration will open May 8th, and an email explaining the new registration will be sent to you via email.  Tickets will be $3.00 per person or a $10 family rate for four or more tickets.

 

The chairperson for the JV Assembly is John Little.  If any 5th or 6th grade parents would like to help, please contact John at jlittle@chubb.com. Help will be needed with set-up/clean-up the day of the event.

 

 

Varsity Recognition Banquet

 

The annual Varsity Recognition will be held on Monday, June 8th, at 7:00 PM at the

Chateau Granieri located on Ridge Pike in Jeffersonville.  This event will honor our 7th and 8th grade students who participated in any of the 5 phases of our CYO, including our

Speech Program.

 

Reservations and payment are required in advance and will be done on line through the registration program.  Registration will open May 8th and an email explaining the new registration will be sent to you via email.  Ticket price is $25 per person.  NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. 

 

There is only reserved seating for our 8th grade students.  All 7th grade students are expected to sit upstairs with their parents. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.  Appropriate dress (Sunday best) is also expected.

 

 

 

Program Booklet

 

A program booklet is printed each year that highlights our CYO events, recognizes each activity and the participants, and offers the opportunity for parents and friends to publish personal messages.  This will be done with the on-line registration look for an email to explain the process.  Registration will open on May 8th! 

 

 

Cover Art Contest

 

Each student has the opportunity to show his/her creative side in the design for the cover of the program booklet.  Since this book is widely distributed to participants and friends, it is a great opportunity to display your talent while having fun at the same time.

 

All entries for the cover contest must be submitted to Mr. McCabe by May 15th.  Please submit your entry on a piece of white paper (8 ½ by 11) folded in half to 8 ½ by 5 ½.  It will be the size of the booklet and will not have to be altered.

 

NO NAMES ARE TO BE WRITTEN ON THE ENTRY.  Mr. McCabe will assign a number. 

 

The official title to be used is “CYO Recognition Celebration 2009.”  Remember to include all 5 phases of our CYO:  Spiritual, Service, Social, Cultural, and Athletic.

 

Entries will be judged by Sister Diane and Father Saban.  The winner of the contest will receive his/her drawing on the front cover as well as a $25 gift card.
